Another Captains Day saw a decent field play Brickendon Grange on one of its toughest days and unless you had some local knowledge or luck it was tricky to score well on greens that were quick. Luckily the weather forecasters were wrong and we avoided the worst of the rain but the strong winds did add to the fun. However, it was a great day with the Captain providing a well stocked halfway house, his generous hospitality was enjoyed by all, in some cases more than once. The eventual winner was local man Willie Kelly on 36 points winning the Captains Prize and now the holder of the 1966 Cup, one point ahead of Dave Turner and two ahead of Gary Rees. The Past Captains field was led over the line by Bob Howell with a creditable 31 points.
