On a rare sunny day so far this summer the society enjoyed the course and hospitality of our President Willie Brooks, at Harpenden Common.  As you would expect the meeting was a very enjoyable fun event. The course was in excellent condition with very slick greens which made for some tough scoring. The excellent halfway house, provided by our Willie and a little alcohol may have had a detrimental effect on some members but there were many who enjoyed the conditions and some excellent scores were posted. After a delightful dinner, the results showed that 5 players had all scored 36 points with the winner managing a very creditable 39.  So, on countback Don Foster finished 3rd, Peter Rushbrook 2nd  but leading the field with a great 39 points was Phil Greenwold with a very timely return to excellent form. Seen in the photo left and on the right Willie with past Captains of Harpenden Common who supported him on the day.
