Dear All

I hope you and your families are well, back out enjoying your golf, where possible, sampling the odd beer and slowly returning to the new normal.

As we cautiously move forward, with an occasional backward glance, to see what’s around the corner I can now confirm that after speaking with Brickendon Grange, Mid Herts, and Arkley we are not going to be able to play these fixtures in September, even with a reduced field.  Clubs, still have to abide by the social distancing rules which limit the number of people allowed inside, there are restrictions regards locker rooms/showers and catering.  Many members are still being very careful, there is also some reluctance to play on away courses and interact widely with groups both with the Herts Captains and our friends across the other counties, all very understandable.

I am still hopeful of playing something this year even if it’s a reduced field, both Aldwickbury Park and Old Fold Manor are holding open our agreed dates so fingers crossed.  As schools return in September but learning under the concept of a bubble per academic year, I cannot see our annual fixture with the county boys occurring either but I will continue to liaise with Louis Matamala our County Secretary.

My priority will be to arrange an AGM asap, a socially distanced one, as I think a virtual one will not do us any favours at all.

I look forward to seeing some of you, I hope, very soon!

Best wishes and stay safe.

Regards,

Eric D
