The Society’s thanks go to Harpenden Common for stepping in at the eleventh hour to host what should have been an away fixture against Suffolk. The venue booked by Suffolk cancelled at the last moment, on the basis of the country’s current pandemic status.

A reduced field of 12 a side enjoyed a fine day out in great weather, enjoying the course in great condition, except for the rough.  After a faltering start away at Romford last week, the Society under the guidance of Captain Neil managed to secure a 4-2 win. The record books will show the match as a home win, we look forward to next year’s trip to Suffolk.

An entertaining day before sampling a meal, the first undertaken by the catering staff post lockdown. The meal was a great success all around with everyone enjoying the course, sunshine, food, and companionship.

My thanks as always go to those members who put their hands up to play, thank you.
