a recent winning streak, a strong team arrived at Brickendon Grange on a delightfully warm and sunny day, looking forward to the match against Northampton, and to try and reclaim the ‘Hollingsworth Slaver’.  The course had been set up extremely well, with greens in excellent condition that certainly made putting interesting for everyone. Although on paper there were some very close matches anticipated a couple of the matches were giving away a lot of shots but interestingly it was the close matches that impacted the result.  Only 1 out of the 3 home members taking full advantage of their local knowledge. A tight tussle ensued, the result came down to just one point, sadly for Hertfordshire their winning streak was over and Northamptonshire retained the Salver by 4 ½ points to 3 ½.    After the match, we were treated to an excellent meal in the ‘Oak Room’ followed by the presentation to their President Peter Coles in his last fixture, after 20 months in the role due to the pandemic, returning home with a smile and the Salver. Congratulations to his team, we will be looking for revenge next year. To view Photos Clic
