Our tradition at the Autumn Meeting is to hold the final of the Crameri Cup, a senior pairs event hosted by the society for clubs affiliated to Hertfordshire Golf, led the field off at this year’s venue, Aldwickbury Park. A close match was finally settled on the 16th green with a 3 & 2 win for The Hertfordshire, represented by Graham Thorogood, a beaten finalist in 2018, and Gary Camp over Dyrham Park’s, Gary Plein and Daniel Dias.

The society members playing for the Millennium Trophy were treated to a typical Autumn day on the course, starting in the sunshine, then dark skies, followed by the predicted rain around halfway through most players round.  It was a real downpour for a number of holes. Despite the rain, there were some very respectable scores at the end of the day. The final results saw David Smith and Doug Root in third place, with 41 points, just edging out committee members Nick Brookes and Bob Howell, with 42, and the eventual winners scoring a very creditable 44 points were Phil Swan, East Herts, and David Brewer of Old Fold Manor. We now all look forward to the final event of the calendar year, which will see the members gathering at the traditional Xmas Fayre, played this year at the Captain’s Club, Old Fold Manor.  Please click for photos
