A long trip for this fixture saw the pairs travel to Heacham Manor for the first time and enjoy the hospitality of our friends from Norfolk. This is a recent addition to our fixture list and both sides have found it enjoyable playing Greensomes for the Tony Thacker Trophy. We managed to win on our last away trip, then went on to lose at home last season. I had hoped for a repeat performance this time. We had a small but dedicated team led by our Vice Captain Gary Rees but sadly history was not going to prevail, losing 5 & 2. My only consolation was it’s another course that despite being open, local knowledge does help. After enjoying a decent meal we set off on the journey home hoping that next year when we host the event at Brickendon Grange the result will be a little different.
