Old Fold Manor was the home venue for this fixture, a course we know well and traditionally win there. We all arrived on a sunny day expecting a positive outcome, given the fact that we had 3 players from the home club. Well, despite the knowledge and conditions it didn’t go to plan. Some great matches ensued with rivalries renewed but as we settled down to enjoy our meal it became apparent that it was the away team that had conquered the course not us. The Pearson Plate was to remain in the custody of Bedfordshire for another year after an excellent 8-2 win by the opposition. So, Captain Brian had lost his first match this season and duly handed over the plate to Captain Martin Latch. We hope for a better result next year when we travel to Bedford and County Golf Club.
