For the first time in 3 years the society was able to hold it’s traditional black tie dinner and to look at supporting golf clubs in the county. The dinner was held at Aldwickbury Park on Thursday 2nd March. In keeping with tradition the society invited the Captain/President and Secretaries of all the counties we hold matches against which added to the ambiance on the evening. In excess of 150 members attended the dinner from across the county, it was fair to say, the buzz around the bar and dinning area was great to see. After a decent meal we listened to the exploits of our Immediate Past Captain, Neil Hewitt, who toasted the society, followed by the response from Captain Simon Tansley before we were entertained by our guest speaker Adger Brown. It was great to see and hear so many familiar faces and voices in one space again, following on from the pandemic. It is hoped that the dinner is just the kick start we need to encourage more members to participate in the societies activities. The committee look forward to the coming year with great optimism.
