Another year and we were back at Moor Park on Tuesday 2nd May for the Inter-Club Team competition initiated by our Past President, John Saunders to foster the understanding and aims of our society with captains, clubs and their management team. Another good turnout saw 22 teams entered for this event and the course was in excellent condition given the recent weather patterns we have all experienced.

After an excellent buffet lunch we headed out for the shotgun start and we could se that the fairways looked lush and very soon we found that the greens were fast and true. As is inevitable on a day like this there were some contrasting scores but several team played extremely well, or at least part of the team did as it was the best 2 scores from the team of four to count on each hole.

A great effort from the defending champions of the Salver saw Aldenham with a very creditable score of 81 points finishing fourth on countback from East Herts. 2 points ahead was the team from Whipsnade Park in third place. On what would usually have been a winning score of 85 points was Old Fold Manor but the winners of the day on 86 points were West Herts, lead by their club captain Frank Mitchell, VC Simon Best, their General Manager Jonathan Kaltner and society VC and liaison officer Gary Rees. Congratulations to the team and hopefully they will return next year on Tuesday 7th May 2024 to defend the Salver. Photos follow: Dinner & The Winners, West Herts.
